Driverless cars on German autobahn Cars that operate without a driver at the wheel will be tested on a designated section of Germany's A9 Autobahn, in the Southern state of Bavaria. Similar automobile trials are planned in the Swedish city of Gothenburg for 2017, in a collaboration between the Swedish government and Volvo. New laws have to be created which will answer questions about accident liability and the issuance of licenses. The German government plans to announce the new legal framework at the Frankfurt car fair in September of 2015.
