Christchurch, New Zealand has a new temporary cathedral standing in place of the one destroyed in the earthquake in 2011. Japanese architect Shigeru Ban created a church, which is supported on 98 massive cardboard tubes. Though it is called a "temporary" structure, the architect estimates that it could stand for 50 years.
