Researchers at several institutions including University College London have tested a new therapy using ocean bacteria to treat prostate cancer. The bacteria is activated by laser light in a process called photodynamic therapy. The lasers are targeted with the aid of the latest MRI scanners. The results were published in a recent issue of the Lancet Oncology journal.
