Fantasy show brings tourists to Dubrovnik: The fortress city of Dubrovnik has seen an increase in tourism, partly because it was used as a film location for the TV series Game of Thrones. Compared to 2012, tourism to Dubrovnik rose by 11%. The medieval walled city of Dubrovnik juts out from the coast of Croatia into the waters of the Adriatic Sea, which made it a good location for the fantasy war TV series. The nearby locations of Split and the Bokar forest were also used for filming.
