Travel News wire… The International Air Transport Agency, IATA, has claim ed that rising oil prices may result in many airlines registering a loss for 2012. Fuel prices account for roughly one third of airline costs.

Malaysians have protested against the refining of radioactive elements in their country by the Australian mining company Lynas. In June of 2012 the company will begin transferring radioactive elements from Australian mines to Malaysia to be refined.

Achilles' Heel

Explanation: To backtrack means to move backward from your original idea. Even if we started to tell people about the idea, we might try to say that it's not such a good idea any more.

Prescription drug abuse

Patient: I keep having these really strong headaches.

Doctor: What is the frequency of these headaches?

Patient: Oh, about twice or three times per week, I guess.

Explanation: frequency means the number of times in a day, in a week, etc. that something happens. We can also ask how often a symptom occurs.

incorporated

Dear Kelly:

Our company was incorporated in the State of Nevada in 1992. We started out with a staff of five, and now we have 30 employees.

Explanation: Incorporated means that a company was officially created, at a certain time, in a certain place, such as a U.S. state or a district. Incorporate is the main verb. Incorporated is the past tense of the verb.
